Anxiety. Stress. Worry. Concern. These definitely became buzz words the last two years. The world has gone through so much at an accelerated rate. Though we are getting back to normalcy, lingering thoughts still swarm around in our mind. Gas and grocery prices have skyrocketed. War stories are a part of conversations. Add these on top of our everyday stressors, and it can feel overwhelming. But there is help.

DIY Spa
As a general practice, at-home spa products are quite helpful for relaxation. For years, my go-to spa product was Ginger & Sea Salt Body Rub. Not only does it exfoliates, hydrates, and soothes the skin, it restores the inner you as breathe in the aromatic essential oils. The relaxation begins once the lid is off the jar.
Another line that has helped me is our Spa Power Down Zen Shower and Body Mist. Its lavender essential oil and chamomile extract help lull me to sleep. I spray it on my body and pillow before bedtime. The product complements are just as powerful. Also try the Spa Power Down Nurturing Body Wash and Spa Power Down Dreamy Body Lotion. The name of the lotion says it all. You do not need to wait until bedtime. Reach for this line whenever you want to relax or need to calm down.
My newest go-to line is Essence Inner Love. This four piece set includes the shower gel, bath salts, body butter, and fragrance spray EDT. Feel yourself enveloped in love as you provide self-care, which is essential to our physical and mental well-being. Spraying the fragrance in the room changes the atmosphere. Aromatherapy and fragrances are mood enhancers.
More Power
Sometimes I need to do more than relax. It’s not often, but I can have moments when I am edgy and need something a bit stronger. That is when I reach for Adaptiv. Here is what it does:
- Helps boost mood
- Assists in centering
- Increases feelings of tranquility
- Soothes and uplifts
- Reduces feeling of anxiousness and tension
So far I have only used the Adaptiv Touch, a roll-on that I apply to the bottom of my feet. I become centered and am to process my thoughts and the reality of the situations instead of the what-ifs.
Prescription
Like I always recommend, I reached out to my doctor regarding my anxiety level. I absolutely love her advice of having the medication at home. She said I would probably never need to use it, but I would feel more comfortable knowing that it is in reach. And she was absolutely right. It fits into my philosophy that “it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.”
Sidenote: this has been my philosophy for years. I am grateful that I had Jafra in my life years before I needed it. Everyone should have a business in their “back pocket” because you never know where life will lead. Reach out to me about the opportunity. No selling is required. No quotas. Just wholesale products for the family. But if you ever need additional income, it’s already there.
Bottomline
No matter what level of stress or anxiety you may be feeling, there is help. There is a stigma among people of color and Christian communities about seeking help. As a member of both the black and Christian communities, I say seeking help is faith-based. God has provided resources for us to use, whether it be product, medication, or counseling. We are never meant to remain in a position that isn’t physically or mentally healthy.
