Behind the Scenes is a Balancing Act

First, I manage my care. The flight attendants always tell us to put on our oxygen mask first. I wake up and whisper thanks to God for another day and for Him to order my steps. Exercise is essential for aging well, so that’s where I start. Then I spend a brief time on the Bible app.

Being a caregiver comes with its own set of responsibilities. Each day begins with caring for my husband, making sure his needs are met, and setting the tone for the rest of the day. Sometimes, there are struggles. Sometimes I need to NOT sweat the small stuff. I have learned that flexibility is key.

Once or sometimes twice a week (three days during the holiday season), I head out the door to do a few hours of merchandising. It’s easy peasy and gives me time to be out of the home, off the computer, and to socialize a bit.

Laundry, cooking, cleaning gets sprinkled in throughout the day. Barber and car maintenance appointments are carefully scheduled. Grocery shopping and other errands are done when there’s free time on the calendar. Personal fun like beach time, live theater, and bookstores are periodic events, but important for self-love. Therefore, it’s a priority that I make time for.

Finding Time for My Business

You’re probably thinking, how do I make time for my Jafra business with such a full schedule? My philosophical order is God, family, then everything else. The key is finding pockets of time and making my business a priority. I’ve learned to work my business between caregiving, household chores, and merchandising tasks. I make the most of short breaks and downtime. In today’s technology, the help of apps and tools are my secret. I can schedule posts, respond to clients, and even host online parties—all from my phone. These small but consistent efforts keep my business thriving.

My Somewhat Daily Routine

My day flows with purpose. After I take care of my husband’s morning routine, I often dive into my business. This could mean following up with customers, preparing content for social media, or scheduling my next online party. I also get to network online with other entrepreneurs.

Hubby has several medical appointments and currently in physical therapy. I don’t always have a structured plan of work hours. But that’s the beauty of being the boss. Plus, my business is portable. I’m not always at my desk when responding to my clientele or team members.

With the right systems in place, I make the most of every moment. By staying flexible and organized, I can tackle both caregiving and running a successful online business.

Time Out

My business is my passion. But so is my family. When it’s my time to spend with them, they get all of me. Yes, I have my phone at the dinner table, but it’s only because we listen to jazz on Spotify. My evenings and most weekends are generally business-free. However, there are times when I have major projects that overflows into both the evening or weekends. But they are never at the expense of my family. Never.

Taking time away to refresh is essential. Beach walks, live theaters, family time refresh me. Which means I get to come back to you with more ideas to provide great service.

The Rewarding Side of Jafra

Yes, juggling all these roles has its challenges. But with a positive mindset and effective systems, the rewards are tremendous. Not only do I help women feel confident with Jafra’s amazing products, but I also have the satisfaction of running a business on my terms.
