How to Apply Basic Makeup

I have been in the beauty industry for over two decades. Although I am not a makeup artist, I do teach basic makeup techniques. Never be afraid to try something new with makeup. If you don’t like it, wash it off. Returns and exchanges are always easy with me.

Makeup is the accessory to apply after your skincare regimen. I highly recommend quality makeup such as the JAFRA Royal and the JAFRA Beauty brands. All makeup in this article can be found there. You definitely want to invest in professional makeup brushes. It makes a huge difference in the efficiency and results of your application.

Primer, Foundation, and Powder

The best foundation is a great skin care routine. From there, I highly recommend using a makeup primer before applying your makeup foundation. See the video for application steps of the primer, foundation, and face powder.

Brows

Whether we have a full set or sparse, we definitely need to pay attention to our brows. It frames our face. I love taking mine higher so that I have more room to play with eyeshadow colors. Besides, we all need a little “lift” now and again.

Eye Wear

These past couple of years wearing a mask, the eyes are the only portion of our face that is displayed. Go as dramatic or subtle as you like. Here’s where your creativity comes to play. I kept it simple here to give you a basic technique. Get out of the box and have fun. It’s not permanent. You can erase it with our makeup remover if you are not happy with it.

Cheeks

It’s great to add a bit of color. I always think that blush adds life to your face. Play around with powders, creams, or combine the two.

The Finale

You just are not complete without lip color and a couple of extras. Not shown, but for a complete made up appearance, add a bit of JAFRA Beyond Brilliant Nail Color, too.

Bonus

Contouring can play a major role in shaping or reshaping your face. It’s great for shadowing areas you want to minimize or lift.

Have Fun!

And there you have it. Basic makeup in creating your new look. Enjoy the process.
