How to Winterize Your Skin

Winter. There is much we love about it; such as building snowmen, skiing, snowboarding. None of which I engage since living in Los Angeles. However, there is one thing that is common for us during winter regardless of which region we live. Dry skin. Here are my recommendations to winterize your skin.

Because of the cold weather, use of heaters, and dry humidity, our body’s largest organ tends to get dry. Harmless at first, but dryness of the skin can lead to flakiness, irritation, and even eczema. Untreated dryness can lead to cracks and bleeding of the skin. Open wounds make us successible to diseases and bacteria. And, of course, it prematurely ages us.

The most obvious treatment is moisturizers. To aid in the effectiveness of body oils, body lotions, and facial creams, be sure to exfoliate the surface of the skin two to three times per week.
